The Company's Business Operations


STI Holdings (the "Parent Company") is the holding company within the Tanco Group that drives investment in its education business. It is a publicly-listed company in the Philippine Stock Exchange and its registered address and principal place of business is 7th Floor STI Holdings Center, 6764 Ayala Avenue, Makati City.

 

STI Holdings, being a holding company, derives its revenues from dividends declared by its subsidiaries and interest income on short-term placements. It also derives income from business advisory services it provides to the subsidiaries.

 

STI Holdings has five subsidiaries, namely: STI Education Services Group, Inc. ("STI ESG"), STI West Negros University, Inc. ("STI WNU"), iACADEMY, Inc. ("iACADEMY"), Philippine School of Business Administration-Manila, Inc. and Attenborough Holdings Corporation ("AHC").

 

STI ESG and its subsidiaries, as educational institutions, derive their main revenues from tuition and other school fees from owned schools and royalties and other fees for various educational services provided to franchised schools.

 

STI ESG's college campuses offer associate/baccalaureate degrees and technical/vocational programs in Information and Communications Technology ("ICT"), arts and sciences, business management, accountancy, education, engineering, hospitality management, tourism management, psychology and criminology. These programs are accredited by the Commission on Higher Education ("CHED") and/or the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority ("TESDA"), as may be applicable. The education centers of STI ESG offer technical-vocational courses for information technology, multimedia arts, hospitality and restaurant services, culinary, and tourism and events management, among others. The programs in the education centers are accredited by TESDA. The STI ESG network has also been granted DepEd permit to offer Senior High School ("SHS") while select schools in the network offer Junior High School (“JHS”).

 

STI ESG's network of schools includes 63 schools with 37 owned schools and 26 franchised schools comprising of 60 colleges and 3 education centers.

 

In recent years, STI ESG embarked on expansion and capital improvement projects as it encouraged schools to move from rented space into school-owned stand-alone campuses. Likewise, several franchised schools started their own facilities expansion programs. To date, STI ESG maintains a substantial physical network: 22 wholly-owned campuses feature newly constructed or renovated buildings, while 10 franchised schools have also constructed or renovated their own facilities and upgraded their infrastructure.

 

STI ESG has a total student capacity of  students 159,569, with 112,119 pertaining to owned schools and 47,450 for franchised schools.


STI WNU offers primary, junior and senior high school, tertiary and post-graduate courses. Tertiary courses include Engineering, Education, Criminology, Business courses such as Accountancy, Management Accounting, Business Administration, Retail Technology and Consumer Science, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Arts and Sciences, Psychology and ICT. STI WNU also has permits to provide technical-vocational education training services under the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA). Post-graduate programs include Master’s degrees in Business Administration, Public Administration and Education, and Doctorate degrees in Business Administration, Public Administration and Educational Management. The entire campus of STI WNU has facilities that can accommodate 18,000 students.


On September 16, 2024, CHED granted Autonomous status to STI WNU by virtue of CHED Memorandum No. 7 Series of 2024. Autonomous schools have the freedom to open new programs without securing prior approval from CHED, priority in the grant of subsidies and other financial incentives from CHED, and exemption from regular CHED monitoring and evaluation and issuance of Special Order for their graduates, among other benefits.

 

iACADEMY is a premier school offering specialized programs in SHS and college that are centered on Computing, Business and Design. It is known for its strong industry partnerships and non-traditional programs such as Software Engineering, Game Development, Web Development, Real Estate Management, Animation, Multimedia Arts and Design, Fashion Design and Technology, Music Production and Sound Design, Film and Visual Effects, Data Science, and Cloud Computing. iACADEMY also offers programs in Accountancy, Marketing Management, Psychology and Digital Media Management.

 

iACADEMY is a wholly-owned subsidiary of STI Holdings which operates two campuses equipped with specialized facilities, multimedia arts laboratories and computer suites. The Nexus campus in Makati City has a total capacity of 3,755 students while the Cebu campus in Lahug, Cebu City can accommodate up to 500 students.

 

Philippine School of Business Administration-Manila, Inc. (formerly STI College Novaliches, Inc.) became a subsidiary of STI Holdings by virtue of the subscription agreement executed in June 2024 between STI Holdings and Philippine School of Business Administration-Manila, Inc., and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) approval of the increase in the authorized capital stock, from where the subscribed shares would be taken, of Philippine School of Business Administration-Manila, Inc. in January 2025.

 

STI Holdings contributed 75.0 million to the 300.0 million increase in the authorized capital stock of Philippine School of Business Administration Manila, Inc. in June 2024. The SECapproved the increase in the authorized capital stock in January 2025, thus making STI Holdings the owner of 93.75% of the outstanding capital stock of Philippine School of Business Administration-Manila, Inc. STI ESG owns the remaining 6.25%.
