Annette Tirol is probably the last person you think of as someone who enjoys seeing and being seen in the public spotlight. Simple and unassuming, Tirol enjoys reading every day to unwind, appreciates coffee chats with her husband every morning, and relishes spending weekends with her children, siblings, and mom in one of those unmistakable Sunday lunch affairs that have become tradition among Filipino families.
Tirol paramount role in life is to be a doting mother to her children like a lot of parents in the country. In some respects, it's this same selfless attitude that she wants to bring to the forefront as the new president of PhilPlans.
Tirol maternal instincts make her a unique chief of a financial planning company, in large part because of her innate and first-hand understanding of the need to provide a promising and sustainable lifestyle for her children. The mother of three believes in the importance of providing a stable future for her children and one aspect of this is to ensure that she has financial plans in place for them. I may not have all their financial needs in the future covered but I am confident that I am giving them a leg up and every opportunity to leap forward, Â she says.
Tirol didn't earn her keep just through the merits of her personality; she earned it by putting in the work in a career that has spanned close to 20 years. With years of experience in the realm of financial services, the new PhilPlans president understands the financial needs and aspirations of the consumer better than most people. At the end of the day the ability to understand the customer's needs and goals and provide relevant options to plan their financial journey is the overriding purpose of all financial services companies, she says.
One of her primary objectives as PhilPlans president is to help raise awareness that financial planning isn't just limited to a specific social class. I have not yet met a hard working Filipino who does not have financial aspirations for their future or has not wondered about future needs (that they know will happen), she says.
Many would say that they are not able to plan because there is nothing or too little to start with I am not rich enough to plan since my paycheck seems to barely make every payday or Only the wealthy have options in terms of planning their financial future and moving closer to their aspirations and needs , Â she shares.
But the reality, according to Tirol, is that every hard working Filipino can and should have options to plan for their needs and goals. She knows that better than most because under her roof, she already has three lives ââ¬" and the future of these lives to look out for.
